This ‘Gentlemen’s Wardrobe’ belonged to my customers grandfather and had great sentimental value. My brief was to retain the exterior look of the wardrobe but to give the interior the wow factor by converting it into a stunning cocktail cabinet! With the zingy F&B paint, mirrored back and glass shelves, I think I succeeded!
Work started with a refurbishment of the of the oak-veneered exterior of the wardrobe, adding steel hairpin legs to make the cabinet more practical. The inside was painted in Farrow and Ball ‘Charlotte’s Locks’ and a full length mirror added at the back. Finally new toughened glass shelves completed the look!
I love the contrast between the exterior and interior of this piece, keeping its history alive while adding a modern twist!
